Nothing but the finest of beauty and depth on the big screen. From the stunning vision to the heart warming acting. Both me and my soul were in awe during The Water Diviner, Russell Crowe’s big debut as a director. If this is his first movie, I cannot wait for his future projects. Simply a masterpiece. From beginning to end it was pure art and I absolutely loved every single second of it, even the soundtrack during the credits at the end was flawless and perfectly picked for the movie.
On The Water Diviner we get to follow Connor on his journey, an Australian man played by the talented Russell Crowe himself, travels all the way to Turkey after the Battle of Gallipoli, to try and locate his three missing sons and bring them back home. But it ain’t all roses and fluffy clouds once he gets there.
Of what I have read it is apparently loosely based on what might have been a true story, a war record that mentioned that only one father came looking for his sons at Gallipoli after the war. The acting is just perfect, and the storyline heart-wrenching. What I loved is that movie is fast paced, it never gets dull and keeps you interested from start to end.
It had a beautiful balance between drama and a little romance involved, sweet and warm and just brings you the biggest smile on your face when seeing how it all plays out. I strongly and deeply, from the bottom of my heart recommend this movie, you won’t be disappointed! Must be one of the best drama movies I have seen in a very long time. Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if it won an Oscar.
The soundtrack at the end was; Love was my alibi by Kris Fogelmark. <3
