I don’t know how I manage to shut myself off from the outside world and just live inside my little bubble with my books. I finished them in less than a week, it’s not the first time yet I get suprised every time, don’t know how it’s possible to get so absorbed by a book and that I forget to live. But I’m not complaning, I love escaping into these stories, more and more by each new book I get my hands on.
Where do I start when it comes to Thoughtless, Effortless and Reckless. It’s such an intiguing, sexy and alluring story that you can’t put down once you’ve started, it’s addicting, the love, the drama and mostly, him.
Kiera Allen leaves her life behind to follow her boyfriend and move into a new city Seattle, due to his intership in a company. At the new place, they’re sharing a house and becoming roomates with an old friend of her boyfriend Denny, the rockstar, the casanova, the sexgod, god’s gift to women, Kellan Kyle.
The first days goes well, until Denny has to leave for 2 weeks becaus of work and leaves Kiera with the roomate, who at first she keeps at distant but then realizes he ain’t that bad as she might have thought, and they develope friendship. As the days goes by and they become closer, she still misses Denny and worst, he calls her one night saying he’s not coming back because he’s been offered a job for 2 years, she assumes it’s over between them and drowns her sorrow drinking, mad and hurt, after all she did for him, moved far away from her comfort zone, left her family, friends and changed school now he just “leves” her there.
While intoxicated with alcohol, sad because of it all, there’s one person and shoulder she leans to, Kellan. Who together they end up sleeping together and that’s when her whole worlds turns around, this would all not be so bad if it weren’t that the next day, her boyfriend comes back to her.
Now pulled two both direction, she’s in a fragile greyzone between two guys she wants, cares and now also, loves.
It’s an emotional journey, and I was going insane when turning page after page, I laughed, I cried, I got angry and wanted to shove the book into someones ass.
The story starts as the girlfriend and the friend of the boyfriend pretty much being unfaithful, and normally a reaction would be that you find it wrong, but somehow the writer managed to write it in a way that you actually end up rooting for her and Kellan, and just wish she just dumps the boyfriend. You end up on their sides but it also keeps you on the edge, since they can’t keep their hands off each other and you know the boyfriend is in the room, you just gasp for air and sit in total shock of their lack of being careful.
A really good story that I deeply recommend!
